Play n Go have really been making a name for themselves over the past 18 months as a credible alternative to Microgaming, NetEnt and Playtech and some of their recent games have certainly been of a high enough quality to earn them a great deal of respect. Infact, I have read many players state on the forums that they feel they get a fairer game from Play N Go slots right now with bigger wins appearing more regularly than the slots they usually play and bonus rounds being easier to hit as well. I don't know how much of that is just gut feeling but I have to say that I do get the same feeling when playing some Play N Go games including this one "Grim Muerto".

I couldn't get the name to translate directly but I'd take a guess from the characters on the games symbols that this slot is inspired by the "Day of the Dead" festival that takes place (I believe) in Mexico each year and was recently featured in the latest James Bond movie. A nod to a cultural phenomenon never hurts a games mass appeal afterall!

The games introduction explains four of the games primary features, and seems to suggest a possible screenful of wilds during the games free spins mode - a tantalising prospect for any gambler, although I've yet to actually experience such a hit in any game. I'm sure I will get there sometime! The game certainly looked interesting so far.

Getting into the game proper I was immediately impressed by the smoothness and fluidity of the reel animations. This game runs really well despite running inside a web browser, and I could easily have been fooled into thinking this was a download casino slot. Even the paytable sports smooth and detailed animations and gives the impression that this is a finely polished release.

Today really must be my lucky day as this was the second new game I have tried which gave me the free spins on my very first spin! The game adds an extra wild symbol to the reels and between two and five reels are selected as "special" on each spin. If a wild lands on a reel that has been marked special then it will expand to fill the whole reel, and if you manage this on all five reels on the same spins you'll receive the games jackpot of 1000 coins on all 20 paylines!

Grim Muerto has a bunch of neat tricks and surprises but my favourite has to be the "second chance" feature which activates any time you land two scatter symbols. The game asks you to pick from one of the four "Mariachi" symbols shown, one of which conceals an extra scatter and awards you with the free spins bonus round. If only Immortal Romance had such a feature, I must get two scatters on that game ever other spin!

I really enjoyed Grim Muerto, it's one of my favourite Play N Go games now. These games are becoming more and more common at the moment and it's easy to see why!

Grim Muerto? Aah...the grim dead. That's what this new game from Play'nGo is all about. One look at the icons and everything becomes crystal clear, reminding me of the game Esqueleto Explosivo from Thunderkick. Dead Mexican skulls playing lively Mexican music, giving out some lively money for all the undead (that's you, me and everybody else, hehehe). Those highlighted reels on each and every spin? Hmm. From where else if not from NetEnt's Attraction. Combine the 2 games, add in an Extra Wild feature, and voila, you get Grim Muerto, from who else but Play'nGo. So, don't wait, let's go!

On each and every spin of the game, 1 random reel is highlighted. Any Wild symbol appearing in this reel becomes an Expanded Wild. In the Free Spins game, 2 to 5 reels would be highlighted, any appearing Wild and Extra Wild symbols would become Expanded Wilds, thus providing the chance for 5 Expanded Wild reels, if that can happen at all that is. Sounds damn good right? Yeah, but yet to be seen.

The Guitar is the Wild symbol, paying 1000x the line bet for 5 of them, the Book of Dead is the Scatter symbol, of which only 3 can appear on the reels, paying 10x the total bet and awarding 10 free spins with a random Mariachi symbol as an Extra Wild, for extra hot action. Each Candle symbol appearing during the free spins adds 3 more free spins, 3 Candle symbols retrigger 10 more spins, and only God knows how many more free spins can be attained in total. Hmm. That's not really true. We can know it too. Just need to play this game through and through. Hehehe. Whenever you get only 2 Scatters on the reels, a second chance is given to get the third Scatter symbol. Pick 1 out of the 4 items to get it, or win some coins instead, or simply go dead. Hmm. Trying to find that elusive third Scatter symbol had gotten me dead a few times already, but had also gotten that Scatter twice so far. If you're lazy or just simply scared to pick 1 out, let the Autoplay function do it for you. Makes no difference at all really. You'll get that third Scatter when the time comes, either you pick it yourself, or the game picks it for you.

Paytable wise, the Wilds don't pay a lot, the Scatters pay for only 3 of them, and all the other symbols in the game pay from 700x down to 75x the line bet for 5 of each kind. As interesting as Grim Muerto may play, the payouts cannot be that big to satisfy hungry-for-big-wins players, but most others may delight at the average winnings from this game. Even if all 5 reels turn into Expanded Wild reels, that would only pay in total 10,000x the line bet amount for the 10 paylines. Not a lot there is it?

GrimMuerto is another muerto game from PlaynGO provider with 5 reels and 20 paylines so so not expensive game to be played, but after 100 spins playing this game, giving only very tiny wins or no wins at all I would call this game a bit expensive. I don't know about other players who already played this slot, but this game has something familiar with few slots like Esqueleto Explosivo or am I seeing bad, which reminds me how awful that game is.

So the theme of this slot is the Day of the Dead where is taken from the Mexican holiday where people celebrated it with Mexican Mariachi band, which you'll see those Mariachi playing this game.. The guitar is the wild symbol where it will substitute all the symbols on the reels except the scatter ones. The scatter symbols Book will trigger free spins if they land on the first third and fifth reel awarding you with 10 free spins. Playing in the free spins mode if the candle appears anywhere on the reels you'll be reward it with + 2 free spin.

I wanted to try this game and gave it a try with 100 free spins given from one casino with one small deposit of 20 euros. Playing this game with those 100 spins I managed to trigger the free spins feature many times, but when it comes to winnings I got only 2-3 euros which is a disaster award from all those spins. So my total balance was 9.20 euros so I decided to continue to play this game, thinking will get me some nicer wins.

Well all dead spins or very little wins even free spins included but all for nothing. I waste those 9 euros and that's the end of playing this game. Don't know, maybe its not my lucky slot, but from all that playing and I played it several times I doubt that this game could give me something bigger. I guess PlaynGO games are not made for my taste, specially this game.
Well, I like playing Grim Muerto, just as I like playing Esqueleto, but other than that, there's nowhere else to go. Every win you can get is nothing much and low. Damn! How low can you go, Play'nGo? Hehehe.
