Fairytale legends: red riding hood play online casino for real money
FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood by NetEnt software happens to be the look-like clone of players’ favourite Jack and Beanstalk slot machine with the same interesting graphics moments on set and that a little bit of magic on the screen. When you firstly start spinning the wheel of FairyTale Legends slot machine it’s a standard look-like of five reels with twenty lines, though you might notice lively graphic features added and some new mechanics for this one.
NetEnt can really surprise gamblers since they focus specifically on attachment of unexpected moments in the game, so you’ll find FairyTale Legends to be fully overtaken with surprises: diverse bonus features and generous symbol combinations right after making just a few spins. In other words, unlike many other slot machines, Red Riding Hood by NetEnt will bring you more wins with embedded features than you would imagine. Old gamblers know that NetEnt slots are famous for their return to players high rates, meaning the amount of money on bet will be surely paid off in a generous way. Besides, it’s worth mentioning that FairyTale Legends slots game is available via mobile platforms, so it’s time for you to pick up a device and fight for prizes.
The plot is simple, but exciting: notorious Red Riding Hood is about to take you with her on a marvelous journey across the forest to meet fantastic fairies who prepared lots of fine surprises to diversify the road you’re on. You just need to follow the Hood and help her go through the dark forest to find her grandmother’s house. But be aware of Bad Wolf’s tricks and don’t let Red Riding Hood fall into his traps.
FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood slot is a game with definitely charming backdrop that isn’t fixed to one position as in many other slot machines. Players will have a chance to spice up spinning with rotating clouds and the hilltop wheeling at the background, and also there will be Red Riding Hood walking while you’re betting at the left bottom corner. So everything is moving, whirling, twisting and this particular feature of the slot turns it into a very dynamic gaming session that won’t let you become bored.
Another feature of FairyTale Legends slots is that it looks fantastically beautiful and stuns gamblers with an outstanding level of graphics that it even may be mistaken for a real video game. NetEnt is definitely holding the market in an iron fist making other soft developers keep up with the standards for all video slot games. But with all that interface beauty taken into consideration, FairyTale Legends lacks a bit of actual pay icons.
And the last, but not the least is that the plot for classic Red Riding Hood tale was revised and transformed into a free interpretation of this famous piece of work. If you anticipate seeing the grandmother or the Big Wolf, then you’ll be completely wrong about it: none of them are involved into narration and instead of beloved characters there are some fairies and magic symbols to come. Since it’s titled as FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood then it might have sense.
How to play
This is not the slot you may see in many casinos, so to test FairyTale Legends out in a demo-version visit the official website of NetEnt software developer – reasonable enough before jumping into real money session.
The first figure on the screen is a small cut scene, that is a hallmark of many NetEnt cinematographic slot machines. This episode tells about the game and shows features like available bonuses, wild symbols and other aspects the game keeps behind. After watching the scene, you are shown the slot interface. Casino players could be interested in paytable and symbol values, in that case go straight to the information section (the icon is on the left of the bet box). Then place a bet, but don’t forget to adjust it with “coin value” and “level” options. Also, you can put a machine on an auto-regime not to click spin button all the time, and moreover FairyTales Legends provides you with autospin limitations (another common feature of all NetEnt slot machines). It means you are able to preset a number of spins beforehand: 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 are offered.
Rules and features
There are twenty fixed lines and five reels with a bet range going from 0.2 to 200 credits. The rules are not really different from the standard ones: you spin, you get the best combination of symbols, you win if it’s so. But of course, NetEnt have prepared an unexpected turn of events for players in the form of random bonuses. Three features trigger spins without a scatter and they appear randomly: these are Fairy Surprise, Fairy Magic Spin, Fairy Wild Spin. What they do:
- Fairy Surprise activates randomly whenever there’s a no-win case in the game – The Fairy appearing on the screen selects a symbol from the medium-win ones after the spin, and then, other symbols from the low-win are turned into this selected symbol so a gambler gets higher reward.
- Fairy Magic Spin summons The Fairy again to create a random cluster consisting of five to nine medium-win symbols (game logo is excluded).
- The Fairy also can go wild and scatter three or four Wild symbols on the second, third and fourth reels and then the set of Wilds remains for the nest spin (Sticky Wild re-spin feature).
Beside these random features, there are classic bonus rounds where you blindly choose reward from three options: Beware The Wolf bonus round, Free Spins (if a chest appears on a reel during Free Spins round you get +2 spins to the pot) and the last is Coin Win. What they do:
- Free Spins is no difference to what you may expect, with a slight variation of adding re-triggers and Wild symbols sticking to the reels. You are given ten spins by default, but if another chest coming to you, each adds to the pot of spins two additional ones.
- Coin Win is as simple as its name: you obtain x15 multiplication to your bet and that’s it.
- The most interesting bonus of all is Beware The Wolf mini game where you hop through the pathway leading to the Grandmother’s house – you spin the random hop wheel, and then skip along that number, but in case you meet the red cross the Big Wolf catches you and it stops the bonus. This bonus is harder to get, because finding a way to the cottage gives you x200 to your bet that is more than just a reward.
Paytable for low-win symbols in FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood:
|SYMBOL||VALUE||2 ON THE LINE||3 ON THE LINE||4 ON THE LINE||5 ON THE LINE|
Paytable for medium-win symbols in FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood:
|SYMBOL||VALUE||2 ON THE LINE||3 ON THE LINE||4 ON THE LINE||5 ON THE LINE|
NetEnt must be proud of their great slot legacy and FairyTale Legends: Red Riding Hood surely may join the list of good products, though not the best ones. It still lacks optimization for mobile platforms, especially when Beware The Wolf mini game starts, and overall some players report technical issues about the slot. Nevertheless, Red Riding Hood with a company of cute fairies is fun to play because of interesting features and somewhat high return-to-player ratio what is claimed to be around 96.3%. Here’s the full detail table:
|Min bet||Max bet||Reels||Lines||RTP||Progressive Jackpot|
|0.2 points||200 points||5||20||96.33%||Not available|

Fairytale legends: red riding hood Reviews by Players
The first two things that struck me about this Red Riding Hood game were the absence of any payout for the Wild symbols, and the absence of any Scatter symbol. That removes a lot of additional winning chances out of the game, which I don't like at all! The Wild symbol appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game but can appear on all reels in the Free Spins game. It also substitutes for other symbols except for the Bonus symbol. Yep, the Wild is a totally dumb Wild symbol. There are no Scatter symbols, as already mentioned, but there is a Bonus symbol that appears only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Getting all 3 of them triggers the Bonus Feature game. Nope, no payouts for these Bonus symbols too, making them yet another dumb symbol. Well, Red Riding Hood is one of the very few NetEnt games that uses 2 dumb symbols at the same time in a game. I hope NetEnt isn't following Microgaming's traits! As for the other symbols in the game, the 'FL' logo pays 400x, the Shield pays 250x, the Key pays 200x, the Rose pays 150x, the Book pays 100x, and all the rest pay 60x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. A very low paytable indeed.
There are 6 feature games here, 3 randomly activated in the base game, the other 3 appearing in the Bonus Feature game. The 3 randomly activated features in the base game are, the Fairy Magic Spin, whereby a random cluster of 5 to 9 medium-win symbols are awarded, the Fairy Surprise, whereby a random symbol is selected, and all the lower symbols are then transformed into the selected symbol. Theoretically, it may be possible to get all same 15 symbols in this feature game. The third feature is the Fairy Wild Spin, whereby 3 or 4 Wild symbols are randomly placed onto reels 2, 3 or 4 before the start of that free spin. After paying off whatever winning combinations, a Sticky Wild Respin is then awarded, with all the Wild symbols held and locked in their positions.
In the Bonus Feature game, pick 1 out of 3 chests to reveal 'Beware The Wolf Bonus', 'Free Spins', or 'Coin Win'. In the 'Beware The Wolf Bonus' game, there are 5 types of prizes to be won, namely a Coin Win, a Double Win, an Arrow Win, a Jackpot Coin Win and a Collect Win. Spin the Whirlgig to move along the playboard to win the prizes. In the Free Spins game, 10 free spins are awarded but without any multiplier, and each chest appearing during the free spins award +2 more free spins. The Coin Win feature pays 15x the total bet amount.
With so many feature games available, including the regular Free Spins game, payouts for each feature tend to be diluted and lesser in amount. From my several plays on this game, both using free spins and deposited money, the wins that I've gotten so far were all around 15x to 25x my bet amount. Disappointing payouts I must admit, but I haven't yet got that 'Beware The Wolf Bonus' feature, so I don't really know if that feature can pay better. Let's hope so. There have been a few nice looking wins, that should have paid quite nicely, but the very low values of those symbols kept the payout amounts down and below expectations. This is again very disappointing for each time it happens.
Nonetheless, playing Red Riding Hood seems to be enjoyable and exciting enough, despite all the low payouts I've gotten, but it does have better potentials. No doubts about that. How much better is yet to be seen though. Until I can get good bigger wins, my rating on the game have to be based on what I've achieved, and not on what can be theoretically achieved.
To be honest I have quite mixed feelings about this game. I have tried it a few times now in Doublestar casino and Slotjoint casino and few other places with couple of free spins. The game itself has 5 reels and 20 paylines, random features that come up on base game, two bonus rounds and also sticky wilds. From feature point of view the game is full of everything and that definitely makes it very exciting and I like that about it. But from other perspective- I find myself getting really low payouts. In some of my sessions of this game I would have no features at all and I would end up with a loss but the last time I played this game I ended up with a small profit.
So I guess one of my favorite parts of this game is a sticky wild respin. It happens when you get 2 wilds on base game, but it can be hard to get them as they land on certain reels only. But when it happens, you get one respin with the wilds and it has helped me to get a few small wins. I do like the fact that there are also 3 random features that can come up anytime and one of the fairies will either turn reels into certain symbols or add wilds. My favorite of the 3 is the wild fairy but unfortunately it came up the most rarely.
But as always, there are bonus features that are stars of the show and I like them both equally. When you get treasure chest on reels 1,3 and 5 you need to pick one of them and you can get either coin win, wolf bonus round or free spins. I have had them a few times now and I really like them both the same. The wolf bonus is a trail of multipliers and you will walk certain steps, which you getby clicking the button, until the game ends and the wolf attacks. With this feature I have had a decent 40x bet win but I guess I like it so much because it is entertaining. The second feature is 10 free spins and whenever treasure chest lands, you get 2 extra free spins. I was quite upset by the fact that the free spins have no multiplier as otherwise it would be the perfect bonus feature. My best score so far has been 34 free spins with 60x bet win. I definitely expeted more than that.
Overall I do think that this is a decent release as the theme is interesting and design is nice, but overall this is a game I won't be playing more, simply because the payouts are quite upsetting. With 34 free spins I definitely expected a win over 100x bet and also the game can be quite a money eater as I said, in few sessions I didn't get any of the features at all and it's hard to get a win over 15x bet on base game alone.
There are 3 bonus features. I reached 96 free spins the most so far during one free spin session. Each box gave 2 extra spins. I got 3 boxes all at once in the free spins feature, which added 10 extra free spins for me. (I bet 1 EUR/spin that time, end of the feature I had around 100 EUR extra). Wolf bonus was my favorite part! I hit "double" in the game, sometimes I had 10x or 14x one jump, therefore I managed a big win at that time.
