call of the colosseum Reviews by Players

Call of the Colosseum is an okay slot - not my favourite ever game but certainly not my least favourite. There have been times where I have played this slot and really liked it but other times I have though it to be complete and utter RUBBISH. I think it really makes a difference as to how you bet on this slot because when I have played it at the minimum bet which is 25p a spin I hate to say it but I have never really won much on it at all. I am the kind of player if I can play at minimum bet I will! But if you are forced to play this slot at higher bets like £1.25 or £2.50 then it actually becomes a lot more exciting.

Casinos that require this kind of bet are most Skill on Net casinos! I really do not get to play in these kind of casinos as much as I would like because like I said a lot of their slots like Call of the Colosseum require this minimum bet - usually a coin denomination of at least 0.05p per line as opposed to the standard 0.01p per line. Playing at high bets can produce colossal wins though! If you have the money in your bankroll to be able to place such bets I highly recommend it.

As with any slot the free spins are the things you are looking to get. The good thing about the free spins on this lot are you could get any number of free spins. Every time the gladiator man comes on your screen during your free spins he will give you either a thumbs up or a thumbs down. A thumbs down means that you do not get any additional spins but if you get his gracious thumbs up he adds additional free spins for you - what a lovely man! Your free spins can go on and on! I am not sure if there is a maximum number of spins you can get - but the more you get the more you earn especially at £1.25+ a spin!
Call of the Colosseum is another slot that raises a monument for the ancient Rome and focuses mainly for the gladiator tournaments. We can see lot of products of this theme and perhaps it’s no coincidence why this subject is so popular among the developers. The graphics of this version is not bad but strangely I like much more the great looking background image (very nice decorated columns) than the symbols it uses. There’s nothing problem with them but I think they have just average quality and they’re not from the real captivating ones. Of course the gladiator equipment illustrations can’t be left off from the symbols and we can play with Emperor, tiger, grape, Roman coins icons too. In short, the game has an ordinary interface with some nice decoration elements.

The Roman noble woman might be one of our target characters at this 25-line gambling product because collecting them 5 pieces on an active payline means the best 5 of a kind win is completed and 5000 times of line bet is won. Unfortunately, the Emperor (Wild) emblem has some function limitations and it’s one of the worst substitute symbols I have ever played with. It doesn’t have the ability to pay in itself, only appears on the 3 middle reels and doesn’t multiply the wins. It’s hard to imagine how it can be more powerless than this. The Gladiator’s shield is the Scatter and might surprise players with x100 of total bet win and if just 3 or 4 of them appear anywhere on the reels the gift can’t be anything else than the rewarded free spins. During the 10 extra games all wins are doubled and the only interesting little feature also may happen here if an Emperor pops up it show either a ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ meaning 1-3 additional free spins are awarded or the original number of extra spins is played.

Honestly, this game doesn’t impress me at all. There aren’t any elements that would be better than just average and its payout tendency is real bad. Long losing streaks follow each other and neither the better paying winning combos nor the free spin feature occur that frequently that I could consider as acceptable. The original idea to build a game around this heroic age of history is great but the realization (especially the game segment) is poor. I’m sure if someone seeks for a Roman game, much better options easily can be found where more impressive view and much better game qualities can give a real chance for entertainment and maybe make some profits, too.
